My highschool yearbook class taught me how to use a camera. I had no interest whatsoever. I took pictures of leaves and lines, following a long powerpoint and lecture over the specifics of using a camera - and every image I took felt meaningless.

A few years later, I was gifted my first camera from a mentor (something changed... it was different now).
When I picked up a camera for a second time, my focus was on capturing people. Their stories, their love, their laughter - their depth. I grew into the process, and took years to go back and learn the logistics - lighting, composition, settings, etc.. But the desire to artfully tell the stories of friends, lovers, strangers, it never stopped growing.

I am a follower of Christ - which means I believe every life has inherent value and deeply entrenched meaning. When I discovered the connection between my belief in the wonder of life and my photography, everything changed.
